Today in my Dáil office I was going over the most recent Garda figures on road deaths. It appears that we have seen reductions in deaths over the last few months. Is it the new laws and more Garda enforcement? In August and September 2005, 55 people died on the roads; the figure for the same period this year is 39 - a reduction of nearly 30%. I just hope this continues.
